Dobozy, TAMAS

Tamas Dobozy is an associate professor in the Department of English and Film Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University. He has two previous collections, "When X Equals Marylou" and "Last Notes and Other Stories," and has published over 50 works of short fiction in journals such as Alaska Quarterly Review, OneStory, Fiction, Agni, and Granta, among others. He won the 1995 sub-Terrain Magazine short fiction contest, and in 2011 he won an O. Henry Prize, given to the top twenty works of short fiction published that year anywhere in Canada or the United States, for his story, “The Restoration of the Villa Where Tibor Kálmán Once Lived.” He was also awarded the inaugural Fulbright Research Chair in Creative Writing at New York University for 2009.
