Author Bio

Carol is the Education Director for Clover Needlecraft, one of the key players in the crafts field. She is an accomplished author, designer, sewist, quilter, knitter, pattern maker, and crafter. Carol is also a disciplined and thoughtful teacher whose encouragement and patience regularly inspires student creativity and success.  Carol is recognized for the strength of her “colorwash” designs and has produced quilt patterns under the Heatherworks label.

Mary Hogan is a former university professor who teaches and designs at The Quilting Season in Saline, MI. She focuses on teaching, improvisation and using as many fabrics as possible when creating her string quilts. She is the author of Landauer Publishing's String Quilt Style and Fast-Fold Hexies from Pre-cuts & Stash.

Over 20 years ago, internationally known designer and quilting authority Lynette Jensen created Thimbleberries®. It emerged as a worldwide leader in quilting, sewing, and home decorating. Lynette is a best-selling author who has inspired a generation of dedicated quilters to feather their nests with Thimbleberries® fabrics, quilt patterns, and books. Although Lynette closed her design studio in Hutchinson, MN, she continues to be active in the quilting industry, most recently with the release of her latest fabric line with RJR and her book, Thimbleberries® Quilts with a New Attitude.

 Jean Ann Wright was editor of Quilt Magazine for 20 years. She is now a best-selling author and has designed several best-selling Creative Grids rulers. Her quilts have appeared in many magazines and she has been a featured guest on The Quilt Show.

Amelia Johanson has been sewing for herself and others for 30 years. Previously an editor of Sew Beautiful magazine and a regular contributor to Classic Sewing Magazine, she has also written for several other sewing publications. Additionally, Amelia has tech edited, contributed to, and co-authored a number of sewing and quilting books, and is also a Martha Pullen Licensed Instructor.

Choly Knight has her finger on the pulse of what today's young crafters really want. Choly has been crafting for as long as she can remember, and has drawn, painted, sculpted, and taped everything in sight. A power-seller on, she is the author of six terrific craft books from Fox Chapel Publishing. Choly enjoys combining all her passions of writing, fine art, craft art, and design, as she provides techniques, tutorials, and excitement for her many readers and fans.

Wendy Sheppard, originally from Southeast Asia, began her career as a chemical engineer. In 2005, with encouragement from a friend and no prior experience, she made her first quilt. Needless to say, that delve into quilting changed her career path. Wendy's original designs have been featured in numerous quilting magazines. She also designs patterns for several major fabric companies. Wendy and her family live in Dumfries, VA. (
